Hair. Recipes. Conditioner.

17 Jun

Ran across this link on Pinterest.com. Lots of deep conditioning ideas. I’ve tried the Greek yogurt conditioner with honey (from another site). Loved it! It left my hair really soft. I’m going to try the egg/mayo/olive oil conditioner tonight.

Bun, Bun, Bun!!!

11 Jun

When I was in high school, I played volleyball and I remember my friend Lehia (who had really long hair) used to throw her hair up in the cutest high bun for games and practices. I have been ‘in like’ with that hairstyle ever since. High bun, Ninja bun, whatever you want to call it, it’s such a simple style but I love it (especially with a big pair of earrings).  The messier, the better (I think).

And of course, hairwear is approved 😉

There are tons of youtube videos on how to achieve this style for different hair types and lengths.

Wiggin Out!

3 Jun

I’ve been watching the new series for gospel group Mary Mary and I really like it. One of the things that surprised me was that beautiful hair they have under those wigs. I remember when they first came out and Tina was rocking her natural curls and Erica stayed in braids. Now they are constantly switching up their look with different wigs and styles. I guess I just never imagined that their natural hair was so pretty. Hmmmm, I might have to invest in a few wigs myself 😉

Another hair surprise came from Kim Zolciac (of RHOA) when she revealed her natural hair on her show “Don’t be tardy for the wedding.” I haven’t seen her show but I did see a video on Wendy. Kim also has a full head of hair under her wigs. Growing up I guess I always associated wigs with people with little to no hair, older women or for costume. But nowadays wigs, weaves, and extensions are everyday use for women of all ages and hair types.

Nicole Ari Parker: Natural hair and New product

3 Jun

I was thrilled to see Nicole Ari Parker on The Wendy Show this past week discussing her seven year wedding anniversary, natural hair and a new product that I’m sure every woman can appreciate. Nicole recently decided to cut off all her relaxed ends (big chop). She looks great as usual and she also created a workout gymwrap that she says opposed to other sweatbands, actually works. You can purchase her “gymwrap” at http://saveyourdo.com/ and follow on twitter @SaveYourDo . I will be ordering mine and I can’t wait to write a review for you all. Congrats Nicole and Happy Anniversary!!!
