Welcome!!!!!

Welcome to “Hair she goes again…” Thanks for stopping by 😉

Let me start off by saying that this is not a fashion blog. I am not a hair stylist or an expert. I just want to share about hair. Since I decided to ‘big chop’ and embrace my natural hair, I notice hairstyles so much more. I used to be so afraid to try new things with my hair. I probably wore a wrap for 10 years straight. Now, I look at hair as an expression of personality.

I remember being so afraid to show my husband (then fiance’) my big chop and he said  “I love YOU… I don’t care about hair.” That was huge for me (for many reasons). Well, It’s almost two years later and my hair has grown so much, is so healthy and I change my hairstyles  a lot more.

It will be summer soon and  here I am again thinking of a way to reinvent my look, hence “hair she goes again…”.  But this blog isn’t just about my hair. I’d like to share some of my journey and hear from you about your hairspirations (hair inspirations), favorite hair bloggers, photos, videos, products, regimens, etc..

Let’s have a hair affair!

Hi, I must say that I love your blog and it has really inspired me to go natural. I just wanted to know if you dealt with any breakage while going natural??

    Thanks

Hi Nicole, thank you so much for reading. My hair is actually more healthy since I’ve been without a relaxer. It sheds less and I no longer have dry scalp (which I had BAD before). I have not dealt with much breakage. I keep my edges protected and make sure my hair gets lots and lots of moisture.

Your welcome. What kind of moisture products do you use?? It seems that any moisture product I use just drys my hair even more.

I guess it all depends on the hair. You’ve seen my hair pics. What’s your hair like Nicole? I use Shea Moisture products(avail. at Target and Walgreens). Love them!!! LOTS of conditioner (no sulfates or alcohol in my shampoo or products). Lots of water, hair butters, and I like extra virgin olive oil and coconut oil.

Well I am transitioning and right now I feel that it would probably be best just to do a big chop cause my hair has its mind of its own now. But I am sort of nervous cause I have never had short hair and I don’t know how I would look. I have breakage in my crown so I can feel the new growth (curls) there. My hair is thin and very dry.

I can say that within one year of my big chop, my hair was longer than before I cut it but I’m sure results vary for every woman. And since I’m not a stylist, I don’t want to misguide you 🙂

If you do decide to BC, and don’t feel comfortable with your short hair, you can always wear long braids or senegalese twist and there are LOTS of styles and suggestions on YouTube. Good luck!!! Thanks again for reading and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

Hiiii, I’m so sorry I didn’t even know you wrote back. But my hair journey has been great. I did the big chop and I have to say that was the best decision. My hair has grown a lot looks and feels so much healthier, I recently got it blown out and was in shock. My only problem is still the dryness. I’ve been hearing a lot about the L.O.C method so I’ll give that a try.
